Selecting the right kind of clothes is often a confusing task for most of us. We tend to go in for colors, textures and designs based on our likes which can result in a blunder. It is very crucial to choose the kind of clothes that can accentuate your body type by camouflaging the areas that you do not want to flaunt. Plus size women quite often have this issue and they choose the wrong kind of clothes which makes them look bigger and heavier. However, there are a few basic tips that can be kept in mind while buying clothes--

Know Your Body Type-- Knowing your body is the most basic thing and if you go wrong here then you will not be able to select the right clothes for yourself. Women with wide hips and thighs should avoid wearing fitted jeans and tapered pants as they make you look heavier. You can go in for pants that are stream lined. Wide pants at hips and same width at foot will draw the attention away from the hip region. Trousers with flare also go well for women with heavy hips. Empire waistlines and low necklines flatter you neck region taking away the attention from wide and heavy body. Layer clothing also helps in hiding a wide waistline.

Choose the right colors and textures-- Avoid wearing large and bold prints as they tend to make you look larger. Dark colors like black, red, royal blue and violet will make you look slimmer. However, you can experiment with brighter colors also that suit your skin tone. Skin-clinging and tight-fitting materials should be avoided as they cling to the body and highlight the wrong areas.

Avoid shapeless clothes-- Bigger women generally choose shapeless clothes which hide the entire body making you look dull and boring. Get bold and try out well-fitted clothes and you will be amazed to see the transformation. Clothes with proper fitting will highlight your assets and make you look stylish.

Go for the right bra size-- Several studies and surveys have revealed that most of the women wear wrong size bras. Choose the right size to avoid sagging and shoulder bites. The clothes that you wear with a perfect bra will compliment your body.

Accessorize-- Glamorous neck pieces, dainty bracelets and pearls when matched appropriately with the outfit look great. However, make sure not to overdo it with lots of accessories as it might make you look awkward. You can choose matching scarves to wrap around the neck or tie around the waist.
